Technology

At MJHS, technology is in the forefront in providing and continuously improving the quality of patient care while enhancing patient and resident experiences. We continue to leverage the power of electronic medical records, wireless technology, and process re-engineering and automation towards this end. Electronic medical records enable us to store, retrieve, and share patient and resident data securely and is very effective in ensuring that proper care is delivered where needed, when needed, and with the correct information. This point-of-care care delivery is aided by the use of wireless technology – a care giver is able to provide resident care where needed and does not need to shuffle paper records back-and-forth between the nursing desks and the patient’s bedside when updating patient progress notes or recording patient vitals. With our wireless network, our patients and residents can be in contact with their loved ones while our guests can also be productive while they are here. Imagine how pleasing and fulfilling it is for grandparents to be able to see their grandchildren and family photos with the click of a mouse!

At MJHS we take great pride in painstakingly studying the underlying service delivery processes and continuously asking ourselves how this can be made better. This questioning leads us to process re-engineering, elimination of wasteful processes, and process automation. As a result, our processes are efficient and well controlled, and continue improving the quality of care in measurable ways.  The integration of process and technology at MJHS has one simple goal – to provide our patients the best care.
