FAMILY MEDICINE CLERKSHIP ROTATION:

The Center for Haitian Studies, Health & Human Services (CHS) has been a long standing leader in providing culturally competent health care and research services for the underserved populations of Little Haiti in Miami. In 2007, in partnership with The Miami Jewish Health Systems, CHS began to coordinate a 6-week clinical clerkship rotation in Family Medicine for 3rd year medical students from Ross University School of Medicine. The Miami Jewish Health Systems (MJHS) has been a long-standing leader in providing medical education in South Florida as a participating institution in the Jackson Health System/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Family Medicine Residency Program. Training is provided by MJHS’  Medical Director and attending physicians, and participating students are assigned to the MJHS Hospital for rotation. This clinical training program between MJHS as the Teaching Hospital and CHS as a community-based health provider of health care and research services continues a special collaborative relationship that MJHS and CHS have enjoyed since the 1990's.
